Approximately 200,000 people deleted the Uber app in protest of Uber CEO joining Trump's economic council, and beyond the mass defection:

It appears Uber was facing both external and internal pressures beyond the mass deletions of its app. The New York Times says a contentious all-hands meeting on Tuesday had Kalanick grappling with serious staff grievances over the perceived relationship between Uber, its chief executive, and the Trump administration. Some employees even told Kalanick that they were suffering a personal cost similar to social stigma just from working at Uber.

Is opting-out of the 'gig economy' a form of concerted action, the strike-form unique to this particular manifestation of the wage labor-capital relation?

I'm assuming the social pressures described above relate to various non-driver staff at the company, but it suggests that such people are more vulnerable to such pressures than their counterparts at 'traditional' businesses
