I think the history of the October Revolution changes a great deal when it is no longer conceived of as the result of just theoretical-political combat among individuals and small groups of formal party leaders, but an active process of organization among more or less anonymous party members and non-party workers. Ivan Babushkin was killed 11 years before the October Revolution of 1917, but his activity directly contributed to that revolution-- we know his name, but what about the others like him? Is that the most (or one of the most) important things to remember on this centenary of 1917?
