The footnotes.

I mean seriously, there's probably more content in the footnotes of Volume 1 than in the actual body of the text, whereas Volume 2 has hardly any at all.

(I'm aware that this is probably because Volume's 2 and 3 were compiled from Marx's manuscripts rather than being produced by him in a form ready for publication)
