The problem is ironic shit-posting, etc. It's not a sign of intelligence, but pusillanimous avoidance of real debate.

Let no-one accuse us of avoiding real debate, then.

At first glance, the internet presents to us, as it were, an immense accumulation of shit-posts. And the shit-post has a twofold existence, on the one hand as the concrete work of a specific individual it has a particular content related to the life of the individual 'in real life', as the expression goes, on the other hand, this particular content is abstracted by the meme form, to serve as a substitute expression for the content of the lives of all who participate in the reproduction of the meme. It's value as a stand in for the members of the internet community, we call it's meme-value.

The substance of Meme-Value is procrastination in the abstract, measure by the amount of time socially wasted on it's production. Generally speaking, the less effort recquired for the production and dissemination of the shitpost, the higher it's value, and the converse is also true. Hence the general proliferation of low effort posts about e.g. general malaise, 'wholesomeness', cute animal pictures, how great sweatshops are, how terrible sweatshops are etc.

This function as an objectification of a lack of effort allows the post to stand in for the political positions of a candidate who is the embodiment of a general lack of effort in thinking about politics. Hence the importance of memes for the rise of Emperor Trump. This low effort of the enemy causes a sympathetic lack of effort in the in the camp of the opposition, and a kind of feedback effect which is characterised as shit slinging, and decried in general by naive bourgeois criticism which fails to see how the generalised shit slinging is merely the result of the antisocial relations of the shitposters.

The over-production of memes leads to a general glut, a crisis of the meme economy. The intellectual bourgeoisie tries to compensate, either by defacing it's currency and recycling old memes as current, or by expanding into new markets, as with the current expansion and colonisation of Star Wars prequel memes. But it always comes up against the same limitations as previously, which are engendered by the very nature of Shit-Capital.

Shit-Capital finds it's opposition in the Shit-Proletariat, a class of shit with no ties to the existing order of shit, whose victory as a shit-class is hence the abolition of all shit-class, including their own individual existence as shit. Of course, until this occurs, we still live and breath in the general relations of shit, a general abstention from shit-posting would be nothing but the fantasy of a utopian shitcialist.

For an aesthetic exploration of these topics, we reccomend that the following scene from a popular piece of televisual theater could serve as a starting point:

last summer on revleft Rafiq had dealt with this on a thread (didn't see him again since then, but the shit-posters do seem chased away from revleft).

Sanders did jump quickly on the Larry David comparison with some success. On the other hand, the CPGB has warned Corbyn not to go down this path of ridiculing yourself in the media as a clown.
