The analysis presented here owes much to discussions with Loren Goldner over the recent years. Goldner and I disagree on a lot of things, and those are productive disagreements. In this matter, however, -- capital accumulation and diminished or restricted social reproduction-- there's been consistent agreement.

FWIW, Goldner thinks this analysis should be expanded to include the role of finance capital, real estate, and "primitive accumulation" as mechanisms of accumulation against, or at the expense of social reproduction. That's fine with me, although I'm not sure I personally want to undertake that.

If anyone else has ideas about that-- have at it. Please.
