Black Sabbath invented heavy metal, Black Widow invented heavy metal, Wagner invented heavy metal, Giuseppe Tartini invented heavy metal, medieval monks invented heavy metal and now even Leonardo Da'Vinci's getting in on the act? Is there any musical culture or figure in history that didn't act as a precursor to heavy metal in some way?

(The obvious answer is no since the creation of heavy metal is the telos to which all previous human society has been tending)

I don't think you quite understand. Take for example the fact that music theory as we know it begins with the discovery (Ostensibly by Pythagoras) of the frequency ratio's necessary to produce octave's, fourths and fifths. Not only does this mean that the whole of western music begins with the powerchord, it means that the discovery of the powerchord was fundamental to the development of the idea that a rational order existed in nature and the cosmos, the powerchord is the basic organisation of nature. Although you percieve that you have the free will to rebel against nature's law and reject heavy metal as the pinnacle of musical culture, this freedom is ultimately a falsehood which leads to death and alienation from God. True freedom comes not from the rejection but the recognition of necessity, and acceptance of the inevitability of the coming eschaton which will give way to a thousand years of metal.

Would this be considered ancient music?
