I fail to see what does this have to do with antisemitism. That's like refusing to watch Polanski's movies because he raped a girl. Or it's like refusing to watch Kurosawa's masterpieces because he was advocating feudalistic values. Also, Wagner was German bourgeois composer. What do you expect from him if not to reproduce ideology of his class?

But they're wrong.

I wasn't aware that this is a Marxist forum. And since he was an Anti-Semite, all of Marx's ideas are also inherently terrible.

On a Jazz related note, Bach is pretty awesome.

But I also dig The Bad Plus, Phroenesis, and Mostly Other People Do the Killing

p.s. I'm being sarcastic about the Wagner and Marx things

Now we're talking!

This solution of the Jewish question [i.e., Marx’s 1845 insistence in The Holy Family on “abolishing Jewry in civil society”] was not very different from Adolf Hitler’s, for it involved the liquidation of Judaism.

As a matter of fact, I don't go to Polanski movies because he did indeed **** a 14 year old girl. Let's not overvalue "art." It's a product. A commerce. An entertainment. All 3. Certainly an artist can be ignored for political reasons. Mind you, I'm not calling for censorship, or the arrest of Polanski. He's a rapist, that's it. Like Kobe Bryant, Mike Tyson. Tyson at least went to prison, served his time. But in any case, I have no interest in the three of them, and for the same reason.

Back to the topic of Jazz, could anyone here recommend me some records with sax on it?

Want to take up playing the sax but I'm more the prog guy, want to broaden my scope a bit but I only listen to little Jazz (mostly Miles Davis and bands in the prog/jazz crossover niche).

Tenor, if possible though if you don't play sax yourself, nevermind and just toss me some mkay!
