Normally I'm pretty opposed to doing online reading groups because I don't think they can work, but I'm going to be running this one as a prequel to the reading group I'll be running in real life.
Basically we'll read a section of a work on our own, and then at a designated time we'll post our summaries of that section in a thread I'll create. Everyone will summarise the section in their own words and post their own unique summary in the thread along with questions they had, points they found interesting, things they'd like to elaborate further on etc. etc. From there we can discuss everyone's summaries their questions etc.
For our first work we'll be doing the Philosophic and Economic Manuscripts of 1844 which can be found in text form herehttps://www.marxists.org/archive/marx/w ... reface.htm
and in audiobook format herehttp://www.mediafire.com/download/k3n46 ... f_1844.rar
We'll be covering the preface and wages of labour first, and the due date for summaries will be September 3rd. If a week seems too short a time we can adjust as we go on.
While this idea was originally meant to be used as a prequel for my real life reading group, anyone is welcome to participate.
