Whatever. We adopted the rule, and maybe it was the heat of the moment, but nobody back then raised a dissenting voice, and I'm willing to bet that back when Kontra was known as Kontra, he wouldn't have dissented.

So that was then, this is now? Couldn't agree more. And I'm more than willing to have the board here reconsider that rule. And if the board decides to change it, we'll post it, and send an email to Cmoney. In the meantime, I have to get some more rest.

I'm never for pointless baning of people. Tbh, I'd just ban trolls and people who disrupt discussions. I don't even care if COTR posts here, but I've aware that she wouldn't be able to have a political discussion. This is Internet board - not Comintern.

Yeah, now I see exactly what you mean.

Yeah, the anecdotes about railroads are uncannily similar.

You still are, don't worry.

You know what? I suggest people check the archive TFM created re revleft; particularly the older threads like "everything we know for sure" etc., and the one that was started as soon as the bannings took place.

Here's Cmoney's words from that period:

Quote:
Revleft (aka. cmoney)
I think its unlikely that red dave is some sort of government agent. But based on my interactions with him I would say its pretty likely that he is a trade union bureaucrat or some sort of officer and a "community organization" (i.e. non-profit group like ACORN).

I have no proof for it, its just my assumption based on his political positions, which opposed direct action, opposed confrontation with state/capital, and he was in love with the non-revolutionary union movement. (and not just the rank and file element)

That said, those posters who revealed people's identities on the board are cops. Whether they are employed by the state or not, revealing that **** makes you a snitch/informant, and it means you're doing cop work, aka being a cop.

So now Cmoney wants to play on the site where "cops" are? Where cop work is being done?

I only regret I relented for a second in my opposition to this guy being here, in his iteration of playing both ends. Tell you what I would consider; I'd consider unbanning after he goes on revleft, withdraws those comments, and resigns his revleft status.

And need I point out how, to comrades Devrim and Nine, how un-security conscious we are? How little attention we are going to pay to someone who adopts an identity and participates here? How little we care to "check references"-- check what and where participants also post?

You all might keep in mind that the official reason for banning most of us, according to Cmoney was that we violated "board policy" by discussion revleft somewhere else, namely here.

See how cranky I get when I can't get my nap?

More importantly, which situation during your career at the railroads most reminds you of this punishment?

My own. I was banished for a time to "special projects"-- means sit in an office and do pretty much nothing with no cut in pay so you can't sue us-- because the VP-Ops felt threatened by me. Became the world grandmaster at "FreeCell"

What security concerns are your referring to? sure, cmoneys behavior during that whole affair on revleft was pathetic, but I dont see how allowing him to discuss politics on here is a security concern?

What "security", anyway? Its a public message board. As long as people arent posting up other peoples names and pictures on the forums or whatever, I dont see how "security" is even an issue.

But honestly, I dont really feel like having a big exchange about this. I think its dumb, as you know, but this thread is already way longer than it should have ever been, so.

So it doesn't remind you of that time where you tied the guy to the railroad track?

External sources.
